Hi

You can migrate Kunena/Fireboard to ccBoard in the ccBoard component men, but is it possible to reconvert (from ccBoard to Kunena/Fireboard)?

Because I'm not really satisfied of this component. And I don't want to lose any of my forum data.
So can somebody help me?

Thx

Hi,

I dont know if there is any tools exists for re-convert. I think you have to do it manually using SQLs.

Thanks

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

To be very honest, its the whole feel of the forum. My visitors are complaining about a lot of VERY MINUTE features which are missing in ccBoard when compared to the other forums.

1) First and biggest of all, the overall look. Fireboard could fit into websites of almost any colour and the whole appearance could just gel in. ccBoard has just colour themes and there are hardly any changes in the looks after changing the theme.

2) In the forum list, in other forums, the topic as well as the thread starter's name comes up and when clicked on the topic, it goes to the last post and also when clicked on the name of the topic starter, it goes to the profile. ccBoard does not have that.

3) The same case with the modules. The latest post modules lacks link from the name to the corresponding user profile.

These are not really serious issues. Its just that a lot of other forums are similar to each other. So people have gotten used to a few things and a small change ticks them off.

If you can get these things fixed, I'll be VERY happy. Ofcourse, I really wouldnt expect you to fix up all these just because a couple of people have a problem. But still :-)

Hi,

Kindly find my comments below in red

Hi Thomas,

thms: Every software has got its merits and demerits. Especially when we talk about the layout and look and feel, it is always vary from persons to persons. But I do admit that, currently ccBoard does not offer any templates, but in due course it will.

2) In the forum list, in other forums, the topic as well as the thread starter's name comes up and when clicked on the topic, it goes to the last post and also when clicked on the name of the topic starter, it goes to the profile. ccBoard does not have that.

thms: This will be fixed in the next release. Thank you for pointing out this.

3) The same case with the modules. The latest post modules lacks link from the name to the corresponding user profile.

Thank you for your support and definitely I shall try to accommodate what ever is feasible and possible in the given time frame.

Thanks

Thomas
