Know About ccBoard Editor

From version 1.0-RC, ccBoard is supporting 2 types of editors, default Joomla Editor and ccBoard's BBCode Editor. Administrators can decide on the kind of editor and configure it according to their site requirements. In general, Joomla! editors are heavy compared to the usual forum editors, because, Joomla! editor is meant for writing articles, rather than simple messages. On the other hand, forum editors also known as BBCode editors, support simple tags compared to the clumsy HTML tags and above all, they are light weight editors. Read more here about the BBCode Editor.

Selecting Your Editor

  • Go to Joomla! Administration Panel
  • Select ccBoard Dashboard
  • Click on Global Configurations.
  • Select the basic settings section as show below.

  • From the Board Editor Option, select Joomla or ccBoard.
  • Joomla option shall select the default configured editor for ccBoard. This can be either tinyMCE or FCKEditor etc.. There are a lot of WYSWYG editors for Joomla.
  • The second option is the ccBoard native BBCode editor.

Editor Width/Height

Websites will be using different templates and hence they will be having different layouts. So a common height/width configured editor would be a problem. Here administrators can adjust the height and width of their editors (both joomla/bbcode) according to their needs.

Important : Joomla editor width/height are configured in Pixels and BBCode editor properties are specified in Rows/Columns.
