ModeratorsModerators are a special group of users, who have some key privileges compared to normal users such as Registered/Guests. If a user is assigned the role of a moderator, he can edit others posts, approve posts or even delete posts.Priority wise moderators come below to administrators. They do not have any access to Joomla back end modules, i.e the Administration panel. Setting a Forum as ModeratedModeration is based on forums so that each forum can be set either moderated or not moderated. This gives more flexibility when dealing with a board that has a lot of forums. Set the Moderated radio button to Yes as shown below.

Setting Rank for ModeratorsThe next step is creating Rank for moderators. Usually moderators rank or Rank image will not change based on their Post count. It will remain the same always. So we need to create a Special Rank, normally called "Moderator" for these users. Please see the image below.

Setting a User as ModeratorFinally, we need to configure the users who will act as moderators. A user can have a moderator role in multiple Forums. And a moderator role is totally different from Joomla permission system and has no relation with it. Only registered or above users can be set as moderators. All the moderators activities are applicable only to front-end side, ie. SITE only. Moderators do not have any access to Back-end Administration. To set a user as moderator, go to ccBoard dashboard, then select user profile management as shown below.

ConclusionOnce everything is been set, we can see the list of users who are having modertators prvilages on each forum, by editing each forum. Please see the image below.
